Pure Heart Bernedoodles Warranty

Below is a copy of our full warranty. If you are interested in one of our puppies, you must agree to all the terms below.

BREEDER (PureHeartBernedoodles) AGREES:

The breeder guarantees that each puppy has received proper care to date and has been examined by a licensed veterinarian. Health and vaccination records will be provided at the time of adoption. If a puppy is being shipped, copies of vaccination and deworming records will be included with the shipment.

If, within 72 hours of receiving a puppy under 16 weeks old, or within one (1) week of receiving a puppy over 16 weeks old, the buyer has the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian and the puppy is found to be at serious risk of euthanasia or death due to a congenital defect (present at birth), the buyer must notify the breeder immediately. A written statement from the examining veterinarian describing the condition must be provided, and the puppy—along with any registration papers—must be returned to the breeder within three (3) days of the examination. The breeder will either replace the puppy or issue a full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping fees).

This guarantee does not cover common or treatable conditions such as parasites (worms, fleas, mites, coccidia, giardia), minor infections, allergies, or other non-life-threatening illnesses. The breeder assumes no responsibility for veterinary or shipping expenses.

The breeder is not responsible if the puppy contracts any communicable disease after 72 hours of leaving the breeder’s possession.

The breeder guarantees the puppy against any congenital defect causing death or requiring euthanasia until the puppy reaches two (2) years of age. If the buyer continues to feed the puppy the breeder’s recommended diet and provides proof of continued use (such as autoshipping receipts), the health guarantee will be extended to three (3) years. If a qualifying congenital issue occurs, the breeder will either replace the puppy or refund the full purchase price (excluding shipping and training fees). The breeder does not cover any veterinary bills.

The breeder does not guarantee adult size, weight, color, coat type, markings, eye color, or temperament of any puppy.

Training Clause

PureHeartBernedoodles provides early socialization and foundational training, including exposure to household environments, basic handling, and introduction to crate and potty routines. The breeder also offers guidance and resources to help new owners continue training at home. However, long-term behavioral outcomes cannot be guaranteed, as success depends on the owner’s consistency, environment, and care. Please note that training is not part of the health guarantee, which applies only to congenital and hereditary health conditions.

BUYER AGREES:

The buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase if the puppy is under 16 weeks of age, or within one (1) week of purchase if the puppy is over 16 weeks of age, to confirm the puppy’s good health.

The puppy is being purchased as a personal companion only, not for resale, and will never be sold, traded, or given to a pet shop, puppy mill, broker, or agent thereof.

The buyer agrees not to register the puppy under any registry other than those approved by PureHeartBernedoodles, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

The buyer agrees to provide annual veterinary checkups, maintain all recommended vaccinations, and ensure proper veterinary care throughout the puppy’s life.

The buyer agrees to spay or neuter the puppy between 6–12 months of age, unless otherwise agreed in writing under a separate breeding contract. No litters may be produced by this puppy unless a breeding agreement has been executed. Proof of spay/neuter may be required.

The buyer agrees to provide a safe, clean, and loving home environment for the puppy. Proper nutrition, training, exercise, grooming, and enrichment must be provided in accordance with high-quality canine care standards.

The value of the puppy for the purpose of this agreement is limited to the original purchase price, excluding shipping, training, deposits, or any additional declared values.

If the buyer is ever unable or unwilling to keep the puppy for any reason, the puppy must be returned to PureHeartBernedoodles. The buyer agrees not to surrender the puppy to an animal shelter, rescue organization, or third party without the breeder’s prior written consent.

The buyer agrees to feed the puppy a high-quality diet recommended by the breeder (such as Life’s Abundance, Royal Canin, or a comparable premium brand). Participation in autoshipping or proof of consistent use of the recommended food may be required to maintain the health warranty.

Any refunds issued under this agreement due to a qualifying health warranty claim will be processed only after a Non-Disparagement Agreement has been signed by the buyer.

This agreement shall be deemed consummated in the State of Ohio and shall be governed by the laws of the State of Ohio. In the event of any legal dispute, venue shall lie in Columbus, Ohio. PureHeartBernedoodles shall not be responsible for any legal, veterinary, or transportation costs related to this process.

To Be Covered by This Guarantee, the Following Conditions Must Apply:

The puppy must remain in the ownership of the original buyer named in this agreement. This health guarantee is non-transferable.

In the unfortunate event of the sudden death of the puppy, the breeder must receive written notification from a licensed veterinarian, along with a necropsy report stating the exact cause of death.

The breeder strongly recommends that the buyer provide a daily nutritional supplement (such as NuVet Plus or an equivalent) to support immune health, joint development, skin, and coat condition.

The breeder also strongly recommends feeding a premium-quality puppy food (such as Life’s Abundance or Royal Canin Puppy). Puppies should remain on a puppy-specific formula until approximately 12 months of age, then transition to an appropriate adult formula.

Buyers who consistently feed the breeder’s recommended food through autoshipping may qualify for an extended health warranty from one (1) year to three (3) years, as outlined in the breeder’s health guarantee.

LIMITATIONS OF GUARANTEE

This guarantee is non-transferable and applies only to the original buyer named in this agreement. The puppy must be in good physical condition at the time a claim is made. No replacement or refund will be issued if the puppy has been bred, mistreated, or neglected. All medical verification must be completed by a licensed veterinarian.

The buyer is responsible for all transportation costs to and from the breeder. The breeder assumes no responsibility for veterinary expenses incurred for returned or replacement puppies.

THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS WILL VOID ALL GUARANTEES:

  • Allowing the puppy to become underweight or obese at any time.

Underweight: Ribs, spine, or hip bones are clearly visible.
Ideal Condition: Ribs can be felt but not seen; puppy has a visible waist when viewed from above.
Overweight: No visible waist; abdomen appears rounded or sagging.

  • Evidence of neglect, abuse, or poor living conditions.

  • Any previous injury or trauma, including broken bones, falls, or accidents.

  • Breeding the puppy or allowing it to reproduce unless a separate written breeding agreement has been executed with the breeder.

  • Excessive physical stress or unsafe environments, including but not limited to forced strenuous activity, unsupervised outdoor roaming, prolonged confinement, exposure to extreme temperatures, unsafe surfaces, or lack of supervision around young children.

  • Failure to feed a high-quality, breeder-approved diet (such as Life’s Abundance, Royal Canin, or an equivalent premium brand). Continued use through autoshipping may be required to qualify for the final-year health warranty extension.

  • Failure to continue recommended nutritional supplements (such as NuVet Plus or an approved equivalent) through autoshipping during the final year of the extended warranty, if applicable.
